Notion now shows which agent or automation last edited a page

On 30 Oct 2026 (MYT), Notion said its "Last edited by" label now names the agent, MCP client An outside AI tool, such as Claude or ChatGPT, that connects to Notion through MCP to read or change your pages. or automation that made a change, not just a person. Notion called it "a li'l more accountability" for agent edits. In a reply, Notion said the label should link to the exact edit, or to the chat where the change was made.

What we learned

  1. Official (@NotionHQ): "Last edited by" can now show an agent, an MCP client (an outside AI tool connected to Notion) or an automation.
  2. Notion's reply says you can click through to the exact edit or the agent chat behind it.
  3. This builds on the 21 Oct tip to select a block and see who, or what, edited it last.
  4. Notion's post did not say which plans get it, so check in your own workspace.

Why it matters: When clients let agents and outside AI tools write into Notion, the first worry is "who changed this?". This gives a simple answer to show in workshops.

Indonesian creator shows a content workflow from idea to post in Notion

Hadi (@hdnotion), an Indonesian YouTuber who calls himself Notion Certified, posted a short Bahasa Indonesia tutorial on 29 Oct 2026. He makes a design with ChatGPT, prepares the content in Notion, asks Notion AI to draft captions and a schedule, then schedules posts with a tool called Sotionly. This is one creator's demo, not Notion news.

Key learnings

  • Creator demo: ChatGPT for the design, a Notion database for the content plan, and Notion AI for captions and posting dates.
  • Scheduling and checking the posts is done in Sotionly, an outside tool he links to. We did not check whether he is tied to it.
  • The video is about 5 minutes, in Bahasa Indonesia, aimed at solo founders, creators and social media managers.
  • Credit: via Hadi I Notion Certified (@hdnotion) on YouTube.

Why it matters: A local-language example of Notion as a content calendar, close to what Malaysian SME and creator clients ask for.

Notion MCP lets AI tools suggest edits and read Slack and Drive

Notion's developer changelog lists several Notion MCP Model Context Protocol — a way for AI tools to connect to apps like Notion to read context and take actions. updates from 26 to 27 Oct 2026. Outside AI assistants can now propose a "Suggested edit A proposed change to a Notion page that only takes effect after a person accepts it." that a person accepts or rejects in Notion, and can view a page as it looked at a past time. The notion-fetch tool can now open results from Connected source An outside app, like Slack, Google Drive or GitHub, linked to Notion so Notion AI can search and read it., such as a Slack thread, Google Drive file or GitHub issue, using the user's own access. A community post from scatto (@itsscatto) said this means fewer automations that copy files into Notion just so an agent can read them.

Key learnings

  • Suggested edits in MCP (27 Oct) need a Business or Enterprise plan, per the changelog.
  • Connected-source fetch only returns what the user's own connection can see. Outlook, Google Calendar and Confluence items still can't be fetched.
  • Page text read through the API or MCP now leaves out suggestions nobody has accepted yet, so scripts don't copy half-done drafts.
  • Developers also got a Health tab showing a connection's failed requests over the last 24 hours, and on 29 Oct property comments gained a property ID.

Why it matters: "The AI suggests, a person approves" is the safest way to let client agents touch important pages. Leaving files in Drive or Slack also keeps workspaces lighter.

Notion starts a Field Storytellers program with film students

Eric Chen (@ericdachen), who works at Notion according to his X profile, posted on 29 Oct 2026 about a new Field Storytellers program. Notion is partnering with film students, creators and cinematographers who spend a day with small businesses and film how they use tech. He said people in New York, Chicago and Berlin have joined so far. Notion CEO Ivan Zhao shared the post for film fans and students.

Key learnings

  • The aim, per Eric Chen, is to document small businesses around the world that use tech in clever ways.
  • He invited both creatives and small businesses to reach out to him.
  • Only New York, Chicago and Berlin were named. No Asian cities were mentioned yet.
  • No official Notion page or blog post about the program was found this run.

Why it matters: A Malaysian small business client with a strong Notion setup could be a good story for this. Worth watching for an Asia expansion.

Creators test shared AI memory and speaker labels in real use

Two creators tried recent Notion features on real work. French Notion expert Vincent Grattery (@vincentgrattery) showed Claude and ChatGPT sharing one memory stored in his Notion, set up with Notion's official guide, and covered the limits. Meng AI (@qinmeng827) tried the new Google Meet speaker labels on a real call and shared what worked and what didn't. These are the creators' own views, not Notion's.

Key learnings

  • Grattery demo: a fact told to Claude was found by ChatGPT, because both read the same Notion pages, which he can edit or delete.
  • He used Notion's setup guide at developers.notion.com/prompts/setup. His video is in French.
  • Meng AI: labels were solid for people who joined on time, lagged about a minute for a late joiner, and cross-talk still merged into the louder speaker.
  • Meng AI's tip: rename speakers before asking Notion Agent Notion’s built-in AI assistant that can read your workspace, answer questions, and take actions you approve. for action items, or it may make up nicknames.

Why it matters: These honest field tests help set client expectations: shared memory works but has limits, and meeting labels still need a quick check.
